Matt Devost

Over the past 25 years, Matt Devost has emerged as an industry leader in the Cyber and Global Security fields.

A successful entrepreneur, Devost founded many organizations including the Terrorism Research Center, which operated from 1996-2009; FusionX, a specialized cybersecurity company that emulated sophisticated cyberattackers; and OODA, a company helping identify, manage, and respond to global risks and uncertainties.

While a Senior Information Security Engineer at the SAIC, he collaborated with the Department of Defense, the Joint Staff, and Unified Commands, as well as a number of other defense, intelligence, and law enforcement entities. He was a special government advisor, counseling the Department of Defense (DoD) leadership on security issues, and is currently an Advisory Board member of BlackHat.

Devost was an adjunct professor at Georgetown University for 14 years, teaching the flagship graduate course Information Warfare and Security. His professional focus is cybersecurity, terrorism and emerging international security issues.

His success is in part due to his entrepreneurial and strategic skills as well as his hacker mindset (known as “HACKthink”), which he uses to analyze and dissect complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
